资源简介:
The purposes of this study were to examine communication apprehension, test anxiety, fear of negative evaluation and the degree of English speaking anxiety of Thai administrative staff in the workplace. The respondents of the study consisted of 11 Thai human resource staff in an international school. The questionnaire was adapted from the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) in Thai and English versions. The data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and Microsoft Excel and presented in the form of frequency, percentage, standard deviation, and mean. The findings showed that communication apprehension, test anxiety, and fear of negative evaluation had a low or moderate impact on the anxiety of Thai administrative staff in an international school in Bangkok. Most of the Thai administrative staff had a low level of communication apprehension and a moderate level of test anxiety and fear of negative evaluation as evidenced by the overall mean scores. Moreover, the response to the open-ended question indicated that speaking with unfamiliar people led to ineffective communication.
