NRS-4731 | Monthly logs from pilot stations

These returns, signed and forwarded by pilots from outports, show for each day: wind, weather, vessels arrived and where from, vessels departed and where to, condition of sea, depth of water on bar reduced to zero low water on tide gauge, depth of water at high tide am and pm, depth of water on crossing at zero low water on tide gauge, remarks including soundings. For some days only the remarks column has been completed, showing the daily activities of the pilot, eg. painting and repair jobs completed. The returns are stamped with the date of arrival at the Maritime Services Board but are not registered. The average and extreme maximum and minimum of temperature and rainfall are given for weather stations throughout the State. 1933-1935 (8/63.1) 1952-53, 1958-59 (7/7564-67). 5 boxes.
