Whole-genome sequencing of Lake Erken Caulobacter isolates

Three bacterial strains of genus Caulobacter were isolated at 23C on PYE agar in 7 October 2021 from a model community culture established from lake water collected from Lake Erken (Norrtaelje, Sweden). The model community culture had been set up in 28 February 2019 by diluting lake water in dissolved organic matter (DOM) extracted from cultures of the cyanobacterium Microcystis aeruginosa (Garcia et al., 2022, bioRxiv, https://doi.org/10.1101/2022.03.21.485019). The model community culture had then been back-diluted to 1000 cells/ml in 29 April 2019 with the same DOM, and then left in incubation at 20C in 12-hour light/dark cycles. The three Caulobacter isolates were subjected to whole-genome sequencing using PacBio long-read sequencing.
