The experimental data supporting the results presented in J. C. Chojenka et al. 2025 Acta Materialia (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.actamat.2025.121236). The data set contains raw data from Comsol Multiphysics, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, fluorometry, and SEM imaging for the characterization of nanopatterned titanium dioxide films, which were investigated to determine the influence of pre-patterning on the ordering of TiO2 nanotubes and the photoactivity of the oxide layer. The dataset was acquired as a part of the Miniatura 7 project entitled: ''Fabrication of nanopatterned TiO2/Fe2O3 heterojunctions'' financed by the National Centre of Science (NCN) in Poland under grant no. 2023/07/X/ST11/01451.
