Fine mapping and functional verification of whole growth period leaf color yellowing genes in watermelon

Leaf color is an important factor affecting watermelon photosynthesis and light energy utilization. Mutations in chlorophyll and related genes in chloroplast biosynthesis and degradation pathways can change watermelon leaf color and chlorophyll content, resulting in changes in photosynthesis, which directly affect watermelon yield and quality. In this study, the leaf color yellow mutant w-yl of watermelon during the whole growth period was used as the test material, and the normal green-leaf watermelon ZK was used as the control.
