People's Republic of China 1: 1 million digital geological map database is based on uniform standards and requirements of the preparation of the thematic digital geological map. The geological map is based on the comprehensive research, and fully absorb the new achievements and new data of geological survey in recent years, and use the new technology, new theory and new method. Based on the stratigraphic units in the chronology and the representations of the rock strata, the intrusive rocks are further represented by the method of "lithology plus dating", which further improves the research degree of basic geology. Geological map database is rich in information, large amount of information, with massive data, the amount of data is about 1.2GB, said the rock stratigraphy units 5347 illustrations, intrusion "lithology plus era" unit 1780 cases, inter-provincial important fault 93 , 558 important faults in the provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), 1545 (group) of isotopic age data, and 382 representative holes. All the geometric elements of the yuan and line element, isotopic age and drilling have established the corresponding attributes, adjacent map between the map processing, prepared a map instructions and metadata. The database uses a unified linear library, symbol library, color library, mapping process all using MAPGIS6.5 platform computer-aided map, plotting high precision, good quality, meet the design requirements, the national 64 map with four Area of the work of the method, the final unified system made. The digital geological map is the most complete and the latest 1: 1 million geological map in China. It is the first result of China's first 1: 1 million digital geological map using GIS technology, which fully reflects the characteristics of China's geological structure and the current the new level of geological research.

中华人民共和国1:100万数字地质图数据库，系依据统一标准与规范编制的专题数字地质图数据集。本地质图以综合研究为基础，全面吸纳近年来地质调查的最新成果与数据，并应用了全新的技术、理论与方法。编图以年代地层单元为依托，通过岩石地层表征方式，并采用“岩性+测年”的方法对侵入岩进行表达，进一步提升了基础地质研究程度。该数据库信息丰富、体量庞大，数据总量约1.2GB，包含岩石地层单元插图5347幅、侵入岩“岩性+时代”单元1780个、省际重要断裂93条、各省（自治区、直辖市）域内重要断裂558条、同位素年龄数据1545组，以及代表性钻孔382个。所有点、线几何要素、同位素年龄数据及钻孔信息均已建立对应属性，完成了邻图图幅接边处理，并编制了图件说明书与元数据。本数据库采用统一的线型库、符号库与色库，全部编图工作均基于MAPGIS6.5平台完成计算机辅助制图，成图精度高、质量优良，符合设计要求。该数据集以全国64幅图幅为基础，采用四区作业法最终统一整饰完成。该数字地质图是国内现存最完整、现势性最强的1:100万地质图成果，亦是我国首个采用GIS技术编制的1:100万数字地质图成果，全面展现了我国地质构造特征与当前地质研究的最新水平。
