Models for Development of Dental Diseases, 1990

The project contains a survey concerning health, environment and development in a birth cohort of children and their families. A subproject concerning dental health and dental health behavior was also included. The sample selected was all children born at Kongsvinger hospital in a 16-month period spanning from 1979 to 1980. The data material consists of two data files. The largest data file is based on interviews of parents on the maternity ward after birth, questionnaires completed by the public health nurse at the 6-month control, questionnaires completed by the dental nurse at the 18-month control, questionnaires completed by a dentist at the 3-year control, questionnaires completed by the children's parents at the 7-year control at the dental clinic, questionnaires to children and parents at the 10-year control at the dental clinic in addition to reports from the clinical and radiological examinations. The second data file contains data from clinical examinations and radiological teething rings at the 7-year control at the dentists. The material consists of a birth cohort of 231 children born in 1979/1980. At the survey in 1979/1980 the data material consisted of 231 families, in 1982 it consisted of 201 families, in 1987 it consisted of 133 families, and in 1990 it consisted of 107 families.
