Number of branches of international fast food chains in the Netherlands 2011-2016

The statistic illustrates the number of branches of international fast food chains in the Netherlands from 2011 to 2016. As of 2016, there were 351 branches of international fast food chains in the Netherlands. Even though the number of branches fluctuated throughout the projected years, the international fast food sector saw an increase of approximately 25 branches when comparing the year 2016 with 2011. Looking at the geographical locations of fast food services such as snack bars or cafeteria, Zuid-Holland had roughly 855 snack bars and was the region with the most branches. Noord-Brabant had approximately 833 snack bars, whereas Noord-Holland counted roughly 688. The regions with the least snack bars were Drenthe and Flevoland with 133 and 76 snack bars. Overall the the number of snack bars decreased slightly from approximately 5,000 snack bars in 2007 to 4,800 in 2016.
