Study of bacterial populations in anaerobic digestion systems

This study compares five inocula (digestates) used to initiate batch anaerobic digesters processing sewage sludge and microcrystalline cellulose under thermophilic and mesophilic conditions. The objective was to establish a link between the physicochemical properties of the inocula, their bacterial populations, and the methane production quantities and rates under two different temperature regimes.
