Preliminary Exploratory Usability Study, EduMPI Suite 2023/24

This dataset contains the data collected during a preliminary exploratory usability study conducted with university students in the winter semester 2023/24. The study evaluates EduMPI Suite in comparison with established professional performance analysis tools, Score-P and CUBE. The experiment investigates usability aspects including efficiency, effectiveness, and user satisfaction. Participants were asked to execute and analyze a program on an HPC cluster. The dataset includes information on task completion, time required to solve tasks, and the level of assistance required from instructors. The dataset supports the analysis of how educational visualization tools such as EduMPI GUI compare to professional performance analysis tools in helping learners understand and optimize MPI programs.
