Identification of microRNAs contained in extracellular vesicles derived from Pg-infected macrophages Description

Although miRNA analysis within Extracellular vesicles (EVs) has been explored in the context of various inflammatory diseases, limited research has been reported on EV-contained miRNAs associated with periodontal disease. Therefore, we comprehensively identified the specific miRNAs contained within EVs produced by macrophage-like cells infected with Pg. THP-1 macrophage-like cells were infected with Pg for 4 hours. Subsequently, both Pg and EVs were removed from the medium. miRNAs contained within EVs, released from infected cells into the medium within 48 hours, were identified using miRNA microarray analysis.
