VPRS 5064 Institutionalised Childrens Register

This series consists of a single volume and records information on a small number of children in State care. The function of this volume is subject to further detailed research but is most likely related to payments for child endowment. Further research is required on the provenance as it is probable it was created by an unidentified institution rather than the Children's Welfare Department.There is one page per child in this volume. The front of each page was set up to record the following detail although these were inconsistently completed - name of child, date and place of birth, date child attains 16 years, parents names, address of parent or guardian, source from which child was received into institution, date of admission and discharge, destination to which child was discharged and details of absenses. The reverse of the page recorded the date of claim for child endowment, amounts claimed and amounts received.
