资源简介:
Kite Pueblo (Site LA-199) is a small, masonry-and-adobe pueblo consisting of four
roomblocks surrounding a central plaza believed to have been occupied during the Early Pueblo
Period (ca. AD 1250-1350). It is located in central New Mexico in the general vicinity of Gran
Quivira. This site appears to have experienced several building episodes. Soil samples were
collected from at least one room in each of the roomblocks, from a structure located in the
central plaza, and from levels of cultural fill in a clay-lined pit in the center of the plaza that may
have functioned as a cistern or water storage feature. These samples were analyzed for pollen
and macrofloral remains to provide information concerning local paleoenvironmental conditions,
subsistence (use of cultivated and native plant resources), and possibly mobility and regional
exchange.
