Construction waste as a share of all waste generated in the EU-27 2004-2020

The waste generated by construction and demolition activities in the European Union (EU-27) in 2020 amounted to well over 37 percent of all waste. That percentage has increased since 2012, when 32.5 percent of all waste was generated by the construction industry. Nevertheless, most European countries had a recovery rate of construction and demolition waste of over 90 percent in 2018.
