VPRS 11 Unregistered Inward Correspondence to the Chief Protector of Aborigines - Reports and Returns

This series comprises unregistered inward correspondence to the Chief Protector of Aborigines, G. A. Robinson. This series covers all aspects relative to the administration of Aborigines and daily life on the Aboriginal Reserves/Stations. The majority of correspondence is from Assistant Protectors, namely, Thomas, Parker, Le Souef, Dredge and Sievwright and medical Officers/Dispensers attached to the Reserves: Campbell, Baylie, Jones, Horsburgh, Watton and Allen. There is some correspondence from La Trobe and private citizens. The correspondence covers a wide variety of subjects including: daily administration of the Protectorate system (appointments, dismissals, requisitions &c); crime by Aborigines; crime against Aborigines by white settlers, Koori health, Native Police Corps and movements of Aboriginal Tribes.
