The Scirpophaga incertulas (W) is a monophagous insect causing severe damage to the rice crop. Antenna plays a major role in olfaction mechanism in identifying host volatiles, mate cues and microclimatic conditions for oviposition. Our objective was to identify the key players in olfactory signal processing of S. incertulas hence we have studied the antennal transcriptomes of males and females.
