The data are from the RPG HATPRO G2 ground-based passive microwave radiometer (MWR). The radiometer is able to measure the sky brightness temperature at various wavelengths with a radiometric noise between 0.3 and 0.4 K with an integration time of 1 s for this experiment. Two bands are used by the receivers: the K band for the water vapor line, at 7 frequencies of 22.24, 23.04, 23.84, 25.44, 26.24, 27.84 and 31.4 GHz and the V band for the oxygen line to estimate the temperature profile at 7 other frequencies of 51.26, 52.28, 53.86, 54.94, 56.66, 57.3 and 58.0 GHz. The radiometer allows the retrievals of water vapor and temperature profiles from the ground to 10 km altitude as well as the liquid water path and the integrated water vapor. The vertical resolution of the profiles varies between 30 and 50 m in the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL), 100 m in the lower free troposphere and 500 m in the upper free troposphere. The retrievals are performed along 93 levels with about 30 levels in the ABL. The time resolution of the profiles is adjustable and fixed at 60 s, but every 5 profiles, a calibration is performed lasting about 4 minutes. This ground-based radiometer has been deployed in the area of the MOMENTA experiment at 47°05’33’’N and 01°54’16’’W.
