In 2023, French households purchased over 2.7 billion euros worth of cooked ham, and around 1.26 million euros worth of dry sausages (saucisson sec) and salami. Pork meat appears to be quite appreciated among French people: it has been the most consumed type of meat in the country for over 35 years.
