Rochester Police Department - Crime Statistics of Similar Cities

By using the ranked population table from Census American Fact Finder found here, we gathered Census information from census.gov for each city with a population of at least 50,000. We utilized around 50 variables from the Census to identify the cities most similar to Rochester. Variables represented categories including Population Density, Age and Sex, Race and Ethnicity, Housing, Families and Living Arrangements, Education, Health, Economy, Transportation, Income and Poverty, Businesses and Geography. We chose not to include population in our process for determining similarity scores since the goal of the analysis was to compare the crime levels of cities most similar to Rochester.
