The Physics of Rarity: Calculating the 10.02% Micro-Porosity of Calvariadeite Why is the Calvariadeite (CAL-2180-PL) holotype harder than Jasper but lighter than Serendibite? The answer is hidden in its Theoretical Porosity ($\phi$). By applying petrophysical principles to our measured data, we have established the structural "fingerprint" of this new phase: The Calculation: Using a Measured Bulk Density (\rho_b) of 3.15813 g/cm³ against an optimized Grain Density (\rho_g) of 3.51 g/cm³: \phi = \frac{3.51 - 3.15813}{3.51} \approx 10.02\% What this 10.02% means for the Holotype: Structural Optimization: A 10\% porosity allows the mineral to maintain extreme 7.5 Mohs hardness (high-strength atomic bonds) while achieving a lower, specialized density profile. Archie’s Integration: This value supports a Low Cementation Exponent (m < 2.0), confirming a clean, homogeneous crystalline matrix—not a fragmented or shaly formation.
