Geographically Positioned Outdoor Binaural Impulse Responses

A collection of 31 impulse responses captured on a fossiliferous site in the South of Brazil, along with their accurate geographic position.

Captured using a 360° ambisonics four microphone based portable recorder Zoom H3-VR and aligned with the use of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) through the capture of control points with a real-time kinematic (RTK) system.

These recordings were captured by placing the recorder at a central point in the outcrop, at the height of 1,60 meters, roughly the medium size of a human being, and popping a balloon (Emitter) at different locations and distances around the receiver. The audio was written in RAW ambisonics A format 24bits/48kHz files, which are already decoded in the recorder to VR ready Ambisonics B format.

This dataset was used as the basis of our research in Accurate Impulse Response Implementation in Virtual Reality and is open to be used as the basis of any other reasearch upon citation.
