Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation at 3-45 Alexandra Road, Great Wakering, Essex, April-May 2022

This collection comprises images, site records, and vector data from an archaeological evaluation at land to the rear of 3-45 Alexandra Road, Great Wakering, Essex. This work was undertaken by Groundworks Archaeology in April and May 2022. The evaluation revealed seven linear features and four possible post holes. The curvilinear [904] produced the only datable material from the site, a fragment of Early Bronze Age Beaker ware. Interpretation of the features is extremely difficult, but the parallel linear features hint at the presence of an Early Bronze Age field system, or, given the site's location just above the high water mark in this period, they may have served a drainage function.
