资源简介:
BACKGROUND Scintillascope is a real-time, interactive, generative collage engine used as a platform for the development of generative audio visual art works. Scintillascope uses code developed to run inside the Chrome browser, using audio inputs through Flash. When voice input is enabled, audience/viewer/interactors are able to interact in real time. CONTRIBUTION TO THE FIELD The Scintillascope contributes Practice-Led knowledge in the field of generative art. "Generative art refers to any art practice where the artist uses a system, such as a set of natural language rules, a computer program, a machine, or other procedural invention, which is set into motion with some degree of autonomy contributing to or resulting in a completed work of art. The key element in generative art is then the system to which the artist cedes partial or total subsequent control." (Galanter) Generative Art has grown in recent years as a practice and a field of critical enquiry. The Scintillascope projects embrace a range of media and platforms. The Scintillascope also exists as an interactive app on Android smart phones; as an interactive video installation; as digital prints on paper; as animated film. SIGNIFICANCE Power, John.
