V347 Aur is a young low-mass star transitioning between an evolved protostar anda cTTS that has exhibited (quasi)periodic (virgul155 days) optical outburts since2013. These optical brightenings signal the onset of rapid mass-infallsmagnetically channelled from the accretion disk onto the stellar surface whichmay also produce X-ray outbursts from star-disk magnetic interaction. We predictoptical high-state/quiescent phases in 2023 August/October that will be visiblewith XMM-Newton. We propose to obtain with EPIC (2x31 ks) the correspondingX-ray spectra to investigate any changes of the physical parameters of theemitting plasma (NH plasma temperatures and emission measures) associated withthe accretion event and the possibly enhanced star-disk magnetic interaction.
