NRS-20191 | Receipt Book [Hume Pastures Protection Board]

This register contains recorded the payment of funds to the Hume Pastures Protection Board. The Pastures Protection Act 1934, Section 16, states that: "Every board shall, in January in each year, cause an account in the prescribed form to be prepared of its receipts and expenditure for the year preceding under distinct heads, with a statement of the balance. Such account shall be duly audited and certified. A copy of such account shall be published not later than the month of March next following in one or more newspapers circulating in the district. Copies of such account shall also be furnished to the Minister and the Auditor-General."Each page records the following information: number of receipt; date of payment; to whom paid; for what paid; and amount. The final column on each page has the following heading: "We the undersigned, acknowledge to have received the several sums set opposite to our respective names" this is then followed by various signatures in the column below.
