Monthly counts of violent crimes at the municipality level for the state of Minas Gerais (MG), Brazil, January 2019 through July 2026 (latest SEJUSP-MG release). 852 municipalities, 15 violent-crime categories, 73,943 non-zero aggregate rows. Source: SEJUSP-MG Dados Abertos (dados.mg.gov.br). Public data from the Minas Gerais state security department. Columns: year, month, municipality_code, municipality, natureza (crime type), risp (integrated safety region), rmbh_belo_horizonte (Belo Horizonte metro area flag), registros (number of records). Crime types include homicide, femicide, robbery, rape, extortion and kidnapping, per SEJUSP-MG classification. Crime-type names are normalised to upper case without accents (SEJUSP-MG changed the spelling in 2025). Categories that only exist from 2025: Feminicidio Consumado (Registros), Feminicidio Tentado. These are records classified as femicide by SEJUSP-MG; femicides are often first recorded as homicide and reclassified later, so treat them as a lower bound and compare them only from 2025 onwards. The most recent month may be revised in later SEJUSP-MG releases.
