资源简介:
The database contains detailed information about floods for the area of present-day Poland (including the six most important geographical regions: Baltic Coast and Pomerania, Masuria-Podlasie, Greater Poland, Masovia, Silesia, and Lesser Poland) in the Middle Ages (1001–1500). The database contains a variety of documentary evidence used to evaluate flood events in Poland, such as: narrative written sources (annals and chronicles); public administration documents; diaries; and private correspondence. The database contains, besides a simple list of floods, important additional information such as: location, time and duration of flood, the exact textual content of the original weather note, the name of the source and an evaluation of the source’s quality, and the authors’ estimation of the intensity and origin of the flood. The list of all used sources is given at the end of the database file. The research for providing this database was funded by a grant obtained from the National Science Center (project No: 2020/37/B /ST10/00710).
