Situational and dispositional empathy in Parkinson´s disease

This dataset contains behavioral data from a cross-sectional study examining situational and dispositional empathy in individuals with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and age-matched healthy controls. The goal of the study was to assess differences in empathy-related processes and cognitive performance, particularly as a function of cognitive impairment in PD. A total of 103 participants were included: 31 cognitively preserved PD patients 39 cognitively impaired PD patients 33 age-matched healthy controls Participants completed a comprehensive battery including neuropsychological assessments and empathy measures. Dispositional empathy was assessed via validated self-report instruments (e.g., Interpersonal Reactivity Index – IRI), while situational empathy was evaluated using performance-based tasks involving emotionally salient scenarios. The dataset includes: Group classification (PD-cognitively preserved, PD-cognitively impaired, Control) Demographic data (age, gender, education level) Cognitive task scores Dispositional empathy subscales (e.g., Perspective Taking, Empathic Concern) Situational empathy task responses Data format: SPSS (.sav)Language: Spanish (all variable names and labels are in Spanish) The data are fully anonymized and formatted for reuse.
