ETR-1 is the C. elegans version of the CELF1 RNA binding protein important in human neuromuscular disorders. Mutation of etr-1 in muscles results in defective neuroblast migration, suggesting that ETR-1 influences the production of a signal from muscles that guides neuroblast migration. This project used fluorescence activated cell sorting of C. elegans muscles combined with RNA-seq in wild-type and etr-1 mutants to identify transcripts influenced by ETR-1 in muscles.
