<em><strong>Purpose</strong></em><strong>:</strong> Research indicates that many students do not utilise professional mental health support and that mental health help-seeking is a relatively unaccounted for process. The present study reviews institutional and psychological predictors to student mental health help-seeking: depression, anxiety, resilience, and students’ perceived university support and structure. <em><strong>Methods</strong></em><strong>:</strong> An online survey was completed by 199 university students aged between 18 and 56 years. <em><strong>Results</strong></em><strong>:</strong> Students presented with above normal mean scores for depression and anxiety. A multiple regression analysis identified only depression and students’ perceived university support and structure to be significant predictors of student help-seeking. <em><strong>Conclusions</strong></em><strong>:</strong> Future research that explores the relationship between the severity of psychological distress and help-seeking would benefit from employing scales that delineate common mental health problems. As help-seeking predictors, resilience and anxiety both require further empirical investigation. Organisational structure and support facilities that may benefit student help-seeking and wellbeing are reviewed.
