Whole genome sequencing of Zu cristatus (Bonelli, 1819) from Central Mediterranean Sea

Zu cristatus (Bonelli, 1819) is a marine meso-bathypelagic teleost species of the Lampriformes order, Trachipteridae family. As the other members of the order, records and studies on these species are scarce to absent. This group is quite important from a phylogenetic point of view due to their ancient origins among teleosts. Lampriformes systematic is affected by the limitation in molecular data and, for this reason, passed through several rearrangements during the past years. The project "Whole genome sequencing of Zu cristatus (Bonelli, 1819) from Central Mediterranean Sea" aims in create a baseline of whole genome sequencing of Trachipteridae.
