NRS-5608 | Miscellaneous Quit rent papers [Judge Advocate's Office]

Miscellaneous records which include a printed list of large grant-holders in arrears on quit-rent payments (showing names, number of acres granted and by whom, location of grant, amount in arrears), inventories of goods sequestered for non-payment of quit-rents, authorities to distrain properties, notices of distrainment, and correspondence from the Surveyor General relating to the possession and sale of sequestered property. Schedules of quit rents paid and lists of quit-rents owing are also included. These records are labelled "quit rent papers of Fisher" (ie. Frederick Fisher, "officer to the Surveyor General"). The bundle also contains miscellaneous land records: deeds of gift, agreements (concerning rents, leases), sales and assignments of property.
