Gene database of Enterobacter cloacae strain GGT036

<i>Enterobacter cloacae</i> is a facultative anaerobic, Gram-negative bacterium, and is a member of the normal gut microbiota of humans. But, the bacterium could cause opportunistic infections when displaced to the urinary tract. This work sought to parse the annotated genome sequence of <i>E. cloacae</i> downloaded from Genbank to obtain a gene database comprising gene name, gene function, and gene sequence. Parsing was done using an in-house MATLAB genome analysis software. Overall, the gene database of <i>E. cloacae</i> should find use in a variety of functional genomics workflow seeking to uncover mysteries associated with opportunistic pathogenesis.
