This study evaluated the utility of nanopore sequencing in complimenting bacterial cultures (BD Bactec 9050) in bacteria identification and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) assessment (Phoenix 100). Blood samples came from septicemic patients attending county referral hospitals in western Kenya and around the Lake Victoria region.
