2010 Ice Watch Joint Ocean Ice Study (JOIS) Sea Ice Observation Program

The cruise occurred September 15 to October 15, 2010, providing a perspective of the start of freeze-up throughout the Beaufort Sea. Attention should be given when comparing the 2010 to other years (2006-2008), as the 2009 and 2010 cruises occurred a month later in the season than previous cruises due to the fact that we experienced the beginning of the freeze season for the entirety of the cruise track. Ship-based sea ice observation data collected along the CCGS Louis S. St. Laurent ship track during the late melt to early freeze-up season.
