资源简介:
Clostridioides difficile is a Gram-positive, strictly anaerobic, and spore-forming bacterial pathogen. C. difficile infections (CDI) are nowadays the most common cause of healthcare-associated infections in several countries and gave gained notoriety on account of their morbidity, mortality and the heavy financial burden that they impose to health systems. Several studies published in 2005 linked several severe infections and epidemics in North America and Europe to a group of similar isolates classified as BI/NAP1/027/ST1. However, nearly all in-depth studies on the molecular epidemiology of this epidemic strain have been conducted in Europe and the United States; thus, the origin, date of introduction, and diversity of BI/NAP1/027/ST1 strains in Chile remain obscure. The dataset comprises clinical isolates from patients with CDI from a clinical hospital. This study could provide insight into the presence, establishment and evolution of the epidemic clone BI/NAP1/027/ST1 in Chile, Honduras And Mexico.
