BAC clone sequencing of Core Duplicon regions in multiple species. Homo sapiens, Pan troglodytes, Pongo abelii

Core Duplicons are ancestral ape duplications that have evolved to high copy number and dynamic regions of rapid genomic structural change and hotspots for disease causing mutation. These areas of the genome are difficult to sequence and poorly understood. This study aims to characterize these regions using BAC clones in human and non-human primate libraries to understand the structure and evolution of these regions.
