Beyond Individual Choice: How Organizational Conditions Shape Developers' Use of Generative AI

This replication package contains the data and analysis code for the study “Beyond Individual Choice: How Organizational Conditions Shape Developers’ Use of Generative AI.” The study investigates how organizational AI permission and the breadth of organizational AI use are associated with developers’ use of GenAI for code generation and development support, using data from the 2025 JetBrains Developer Ecosystem Survey. The package includes: datasetGov.csv: analytical dataset used in the study. AnalysisGov.ipynb: Jupyter Notebook containing the analyses. The notebook reproduces the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), including KMO, Bartlett’s test, parallel analysis, and factor loadings, followed by PLS-SEM to assess measurement reliability, convergent and discriminant validity, multicollinearity, structural path coefficients, R², and hypothesis testing using bootstrapping with 5,000 subsamples. The final analytical sample contains 1,768 software professionals from 82 countries.
