Geomagnetic Field, Impedance Tensor and Hall Prode GIC data from 2024-04-23 in AB, Canada
收藏资源简介:
This data product consists of magnetic field, impedance and geomagnetically induced current (GIC) data. This data was analyzed and presented in the paper "The influence of 3-D Earth Conductivity, Geoelectric Field Polarization, and Power Grid Topology on GIC risk." See Parry et al., 2025 (Space Weather). Magnetic Data (Magnetic_Data.zip): Geomagnetic data from April 24, 2023, from three CARISMA magnetometer stations in Alberta, Canada: Fort Chipewyan (FCHP), Fort MacMurray (MCMU), and Ministik Lake (MSTK). Raw data are from CARISMA (www.carisma.ca) Magnetotelluric Data (MT_Data.zip): Includes magnetotelluric data collected by Martyn Unsworth's group at the University of Alberta over the last 20 years, as well as some older LITHOPROBE sites(AB_BC_MT_DATA_526_sites_230321.mat). Similar versions of this data set were previously published in: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10594300. Text files for the impedance tenors at three particular MT stations (abt500, abt272, and nab944RR940) are also included. GIC Data (20230424_hallprobe_data.mat): The GIC data file includes the UT time (GMT+6 = Mountain Daylight Time) and the transformer neutral-to-ground current data measured at two substations in central Alberta on 2023-04-24. See Parry et al., 2025 (Space Weather), for more details.
