Quarterly revenue change of the hotel industry in Belgium 2014-2016, by region

The statistic illustrates the revenue change of the hotel industry in Belgium from the first quarter of 2014 to the fourth quarter of 2016, by region. Both Brussels and Flanders started well in 2014 with positive revenue changes compared to the previous year. However, after the terroristic attacks in Brussels in March 2016, there was a fall of 26 and 20 percent in revenue in the hotel industry in Brussels in the second and third quarter of 2016. At the end of 2016 both regions showed a small recovery from the revenue losses earlier that year. Brussels registered a positive revenue change of two percent in the fourth quarter of 2016.
