资源简介:
300 clinical and environmental samples were collected from people with confirmed cholera, their asymptomatic contacts, and the environment, from the Ganges Basin in India. This includes members of the household, people who work in proximity to the symptomatic patients, and those that share washing and cooking facilities. Serotyping, MALDI-TOF and antimicrobial sensitivity testing will also be conducted to complement the genomic data. The aims of this project are to define asymptomatic cholera in the Ganges basin and investigate asymptomatic cholera transmission. This project will generate genomes for V. cholerae isolates from a region in which cholera is endemic, and the first genomes from patients without outward signs of disease. The outcomes of the project will improve our understanding of cholera transmission and carriage, which can be used to inform public health campaigns and interventions.
