These netCDF files have the 6-hourly merged fronts for southeastern (30-40S, 15-150E) and southwestern (23-38S, 110-120E) Australia,as described and used for extracting composite data in Pepler and Rudeva (2022). <br> This dataset is based on the Simmonds et al.(2012)/Rudeva and Simmonds (2015) tracking, as applied to the ERA5 reanalysis. Each netCDF file includes only 6-hourly data for times between 1979-2019 when there was at least one front identified in the domain of interest. For each front, front_longitude(time,lat) indicates the longitude used for the combined front at each latitude between 20 and 50S. front_vdiff(time,lat) includes the corresponding front intensity, with NaNs indicating latitudes for which no front was identified using the tracking software. <br> <strong>References:</strong> Pepler, A. and Rudeva, I.
