As part of EPCAPE, a High Resolution Time of Flight Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometer (HR-ToF-CIMS; Aerodyne Inc., Billerica MA) was deployed on Mt. Soledad in La Jolla, CA between April 2023 and July 2024. The HR-ToF-CIMS provides measurements of select organic and inorganic chemical species present in the ambient gas-phase. The instrument was operated at a 10 second time resolution. Final data reported at 5min time resolution (all times UTC) for non-cloud data, and 10 second native resolution for in-cloud data. During non-cloudy periods, the HR-ToF-CIMS sampled ambient gas-phase behind a Teflon coated PM1 cyclone. During in-cloud events, the HR-ToF-CIMS sampled the same species evaporated from the cloud droplets behind a Counterflow Virtual Impactor (CVI). Available measurements include calibrated gas-phase species in units of ppbv, and in-cloud evaporated gases also in units of ppbv. Users of these measurements are encouraged to consult with the authors about appropriate interpretation before submitting for publication, offering co authorship where appropriate.
