A reproducible, openly-licensed reference table of steady-state surface heat loss and outer-surface temperature for insulated hot industrial equipment, computed by the ASTM C680 method across 672 combinations of geometry (flat, cylindrical), operating temperature 50–600 °C, ambient 0–30 °C and mineral-wool thickness 0–150 mm. Each row also classifies outer-surface touch-safety per ISO 13732-1. The ASTM C680 standard is paywalled and existing tools (e.g. 3E Plus) are closed; to our knowledge no equivalent open, machine-readable grid coupling heat flux, surface temperature and touch-safety is publicly available. Worked example: a flat 300 °C surface at 20 °C ambient loses 2,800 W/m² bare; with 100 mm mineral wool this falls to ≈150 W/m² (≈95% reduction) and the outer surface drops to ≈35 °C (safe for prolonged contact). Method fully reproducible — build script and conductivity data included.
