G-EPIC WP4 Experiment of Socializing Group Attitudes and Gendered Open Classroom Climates dataset

This data descriptor provides an in-depth overview of the data collection and data collected for the quasi-experiment titled "Experiment of Socializing Group Attitudes and Gendered Open Classroom Climates," part of Work Package 4 of the G-Epic project. Included here is the "Data descriptor" as a component of Deliverable 4.2, which centers on the quasi-experiment addressing group attitude socialization and the intricacies of gendered open classroom climates. It is closely connected to Deliverables 4.1 and 4.3. This document outlines the comprehensive dataset, accessible in both R, STATA and SPSS formats, accompanied by a codebook and a brief technical summary, ensuring compliance with the FAIR principles. The main aim, as stated in the project application for this quasi-experiment, is to provide insights into key factors associated with the political self-efficacy of girls in open classroom environments. This objective is based on prior empirical research and theoretical assumptions regarding political socialization, with the goal of enhancing general didactics across subjects and promoting the political empowerment of girls in schools with a high proportion of disadvantaged students. Specifically, the study focused on whether incorporating inclusive methodologies into classroom discussions, facilitated through Q-methodology, could reduce disparities in political self-efficacy outcomes. The core assumption was that inclusive methodologies can positively impact the political socialization process. An embargo period of 24 months after the end of the project is foreseen for this dataset (01/04/28). This is to allow the project team sufficient time to write and publish research papers based on this data as explained in Data Management Plan.
