Procedure for obtaining frozen cores from liquefied crystal silica sand model (Experiment 1)

Second round of seismic loading on crystal silica sand in the small scale Schaevitz centrifuge. Testing done in the rigid container. Three different shakes were applied, two sinusoidal waves and a simulation of the 1960 Chile earthquake.The purpose of the experiment was to develop a procedure for obtaining frozen soil cores from centrifuge tests after liquefaction was observed in the model. However, since no liquefaction was observed, the data was not analyzed and the test was deemed unsuccessful.
