Targeting Chop/Ddit3 in ß-cells corrects hepatic steatosis and improves glucose tolerance

We report that Chop/Ddit3 is a druggable target in pancreatic ß-cells for the therapeutic benefits of correcting hepatic steatosis and improving glucose tolerance. Genetic and pharmaceutical manipulation of Chop/Ddit3 levels in ß-cells led to whole animal phenotypes and islets physiology change. Transcriptomic changes in these islets were performed to reveal molecular changes.
