Microbiome changes in mice after influenza viral infection

This is a project try to look at C57BL/6 mice gut bacterial microbiome alteration post influenza PR8 strain viral infection. There are three age groups (Young (5-6mo old), middle (9-10mo old), and aged (19-21mo old)) and two diet groups (calorie restricted feeding and control chow) included in this project. Total of 18 mice are included in this project. The gut microbiome has been collected and analyzed daily for 4 day and 7 day before and after infection, respectively. Besides those days that are failed for fecal material collection and samples that are failed for DNA extraction, 170 samples generated enough data for further analysis. V1~V3 regional sequencing of bacterial ribosomal RNA gene is reported as a way to access the information of gut bacteria composition.
