The gut virome, a key component of the microbiome, remains unexplored in acute pancreatitis (AP). To address this, we performed a cross-kingdom microbiome analysis of 100 AP patients and 50 healthy controls. Utilizing enriched virus-like particles (VLPs), we identified over 70,000 viral contigs from the virome via assembly and sequence clustering.
