The data descriptor provided here presents a national dNBR-based fire severity archive for Italy, derived independently from Landsat and MODIS observations over an 18 year temporal window (2007-2024). A central feature of the archive is that missing or altered pixels retain explicit provenance (e.g. clouds, sensor-related gaps) rather than being represented as a single undifferentiated no-data class. This information can be used to apply analysis-specific filters, quantify how much of each fire perimeter was directly observed, and identify why the remaining area was unavailable or reconstructed.
